We're thrilled to introduce Bobby Bolton, the intrepid traveler who embodies the spirit of Kovered.
Bobby and Marie, along with their two adventurous dogs, document their extraordinary overland adventure (@one.life.truck.it), chronicling a life-changing journey that began when Bobby sold everything, converted a truck into a home on wheels, and set off from the UK to Australia in search of freedom and purpose. What started as a solo mission to reset his life quickly grew into a shared expedition when Marie joined him partway through, and together they’ve been navigating remote roads, forging unforgettable experiences, and inspiring others to embrace the open road and live boldly beyond conventional boundaries.
Bobby and Marie returned home in 2025 to begin an exciting new chapter, diving straight into the renovation of their next adventure truck, with plans to set off once again in late 2026. That same year also marked another milestone in their journey together, as they tied the knot - turning their life on the road into the start of a lifelong adventure.
At Kovered, we are proud to support Bobby's incredible expedition. His commitment to sustainable travel perfectly aligns with our values. As he navigates through diverse landscapes and cultures, Bobby and Marie relies on trusty Kovered bags – the Taw, Roe and Lune. These sustainably made backpacks and travel luggage pieces are designed for the modern explorer, ensuring durability and style throughout Bobby and Marie's epic voyage.

Q&A with the man himself
What inspired your epic UK-to-Australia road trip in a truck with Red?
So, the truck was sort of inspired out of heartbreak unfortunately. I was with a girl for 11 years and we moved down South together, near London and we got a house together and rent together. I started a little business down there and when that all came caving in, I sort of, decided to, well I ended up doubting everything in my life from where I was living to what I was doing, so the idea of the trip was born out of that. The idea was I wanted to wipe the slate clean and there was no better way than to work out where I wanted live, who I wanted to live with and what I wanted to do with my life, than to drive to the far side of the world and experience as much as I could on the way there.
What has been the biggest highlight of your trip so far?
Right so the biggest highlight on the trip has been a couple of things for me. Coming down the Croatian coast and the Balkan states, so Croatia, Montenegro and Albania have blown me away. They are so beautiful because you get beautiful like coastal towns and villages and also wild coastal areas but then you get the mountains just behind them, so you get a bit of both. We spent way too much time here than we probably should have done but they are beautiful places. We've also had like, personal highlights, where we've met people. So, in Moldova we parked up by a river and one by one throughout the day we had literally all the village turn up to ask questions, where we were from, what's the journey about, what's the truck about and then they kept bringing food and then in the evening they invited us to drink wine at one of their houses and then somebody else invited us to eat with their family. There's been so many highlights, but they're probably the best.
What advice do you have for those thinking of following in your footsteps?
Just think about it! Is this exactly what you want, because for me this wasn't just a trip that I was going home to or a sabbatical or something like that, this is my life now, so I don't have anywhere to go back to, so it takes a real big commitment to do that. But also, it's incredibly fulfilling at the same time. So, the advice is, if you are serious about it, and you do make that commitment, then throw everything and the kitchen sink and more, at it! Don't half ass anything like this, you know make sure you've got a really capable truck or car or van, whatever you are doing, make sure you're ready for it, make sure everything is aligned and then just throw it all at it because it's no easy thing to do, I'll tell you that!
